Us

We are the Saxtons and have been called to be missionaries to America, reaching the lost for Christ in our own country. In the spring of 1981, I received Christ as my Savior, but was far from living a Christian life. In October of 1997, Lorraine received Christ as her Savior which opened my eyes to the wicked lifestyle I was living. After a clear calling by God to surrender my will to Him for the ministry in February of 2000, my wife and I began to prepare for Bible college. The first step was selling our automotive repair business. God clearly answered our prayers by bringing one buyer, a cash buyer, to purchase our shop. It sold in June of 2000 leaving us with a clear picture concerning God’s intent. We continued growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord while serving as outreach leaders in our home church, Faith Baptist Church of Palm Bay, Florida, under the leadership of Pastor Lou Schulz. Then in February of 2003 we sold our home and land to head for Bible college at Pensacola Christian College. I completed my studies in May of 2008.

Throughout the five years of studies at Pensacola Christian College, God opened up many ministry opportunities which grew and molded us for His use. Through it all we have developed a deep burden for reaching the lost for Christ in America. In the summer before my last semester [August 2007] God opened an exciting opportunity for a summer ministry. It was my desire to do what God was calling me to do. Sent by our home church, and supported by Grace Baptist Church of Semmes, Alabama, we held our first tent crusade. God answered every prayer and blessed us with fruit: six men saved. My wife and I came away with great peace that this is what God has called us to do.

Shortly after graduating, God graciously opened the door for me to become the interim pastor for Bible Baptist Church of Spanish Fort, Alabama. Once again, Lorraine and I grew in our faith and relationship with the Lord while ministering to His people. It was exciting to watch God at work in the lives of His people, and it was encouraging to witness His people respond to the preaching of His Word. The church consisted of eight members when we started. In April of 2009 when the new pastor took over, the church grew to twenty-five members. Praise God!

Our work is finished there, and once again the Lord has opened the door for us to take the next step. Our last day working for Pensacola Christian College was May 15, 2009.

The Lord immediately gave us the opportunity to help Pastor Perkins (Trinity Baptist Church in Harvey, Louisiana) with their tent crusade. Through Reaching Mississippi Evangelistic Ministry with Pastor Trusdale and Pastor Carr, we saw twenty-seven souls saved and received many good prospects for follow up.

We begin the next step of our journey by heading to our home church, Faith Baptist Church in Palm Bay, Florida, to present our ministry for continued support. This begins our deputation. The purpose of the Tabernacle of Hope Ministry is to reach the lost for Christ through preaching tent crusades across America. We are burdened to help pastors restart or plant churches and evangelize communities along side local fundamental Baptist churches.

The Tabernacle of Hope Ministry is responsible for raising all the support necessary to accomplish the work God has called us to do. We would like you to prayerfully consider how you can help reach our country with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
